Photo and ElectroCatalysis at the Atomic Scale (PECAS 2019)

Photo and ElectroCatalysis at the Atomic Scale (PECAS 2019), organized by the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC), will take place in Donostia-San Sebastián, Basque Country (Spain) from August 27th to 30th, 2019. PECAS is aimed at promoting interdisciplinary discussion of scientists in the material science and photoelectrochemistry fields in addition to presentation of new results, ideas and methods to understand the catalyst-electrolyte interface at an atomic level.

On-Surface Synthesis International Workshop (OSS-18)

The aim of this third edition of the "On-Surface Synthesis" international workshop is to bring together researchers working in this field from different perspectives. Doing so we hope to provide a diverse and stimulating environment to present and discuss the present, past and future of this novel and promising synthetic route.

International conference on Novel 2D materials explored via scanning probe microscopy & spectroscopy

Since its abrupt emergence in 2004, 2D materials have concentrated the research efforts of a large portion of the scientific community. Those novel materials combine tantalizing fundamental properties with the most promising applications. In 2D materials, essentially everything takes place on the surface and, consequently, SPM techniques have produced some of the most exciting works in these unique materials.

13th European Conference on Surface Crystallography and Dynamics ECSCD - 13

The European Conference on Surface Crystallography and Dynamics (ECSCD) is aimed at discussing the recent advances on the characterization of dynamical processes and structure of surfaces, as well as their interplay, at the atomic length scale. The first edition of the conference took place in 1985 in Erlangen (Germany), and it has become a well established meeting point for the surface science community. In its 13th edition, it will tackle two-dimensional materials, single molecules on surfaces, characterization by LEEM and PEEM, oxides, and other representative topics of present-day surface science

Iberian Vacuum Conference, RIVA-X

The Iberian Vacuum Conference, RIVA is a joint meeting of the Spanish Vacuum Society (ASEVA) and the Portuguese Vacuum Society (SOPORVAC), and follows the series started in Braga, Portugal, in 1988, changing alternative the location between Portugal and Spain. The main goal of this conference is to cover the fields of vacuum and its applications, particularly on the fields of Fundamental and Applied Surface Science, Thin Films, Electronics Materials and Processing, Plasma physics, Vacuum Science and technology and Nanometer Scale processes.

Photo-ElectroCatalysis at the Atomic Scale (PECAS 2017)

PECAS is aimed at promoting interdisciplinary discussion of scientists in the material science and photoelectrochemistry fields in addition to presentation of new results, ideas and methods to understand the catalyst-electrolyte interface at an atomic level.

On-Surface Synthesis International Workshop (OSS-16)

The aim of the second edition of the "On-Surface Synthesis" international workshop is to bring together researchers working in this field from different perspectives. Doing so we hope to provide a diverse and stimulating environment to present and discuss the present, past and future of this novel and promising synthetic route.

Workshop MANA - DIPC. “Nanostructures and Complex Functional Materials”

Workshop organized within the framework of the collaboration agreement between DIPC and the International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA) in Japan.

Fuerzas y Tunel 2014

Every two years the Spanish community working on scanning probe techniques meet in a conference called Fuerzas y Túnel (FyT). It aims to bring together scientist who share an interest in the applications, the use, the development and the theoretical description of technology based in scanning probes.

Scanning Probe Microscopy: A Tribute to Heinrich Rohrer

The event, a Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) School, is a tribute to Heinrich Rohrer (1933-2013) who shared the 1986 Nobel Prize in Physics with Gerd Binnig for the design of the scanning tunneling microscope (STM). This invention gave scientists the ability to image, measure and manipulate atoms for the first time.
