The 2026 edition of the Spanish Women Researchers and Women Researchers in Spain report has once again highlighted the contribution of thousands of women scientists to the national and international research landscape. The ranking includes 12,110 researcher profiles with ORCID identifiers and a significant scientific output, evaluated using bibliometric indicators sourced from Google Scholar and OpenAlex.

Among the researchers featured in this year’s edition are 11 scientists from CFM, reflecting the research activity carried out at our center in strategic areas such as nanotechnology, quantum science, advanced materials, biotechnology, and technologies for sustainability.

The aim of this ranking, compiled by Isidro F. Aguillo from the Cybermetrics Lab at CSIC, is to increase the visibility of women researchers through the use of open-access and freely available platforms, while also promoting the adoption of standardized scientific identifiers such as ORCID within the framework of Open Science.

The presence of CFM researchers in this ranking is a recognition of the scientific impact of their work and highlights the fundamental role they play in generating knowledge, driving innovation, and developing solutions to today’s social, technological, and environmental challenges.

At CFM, we congratulate all the researchers included in this year’s edition on this recognition of their careers and scientific contributions.
