Quantum Sensing and Quantum Communications for Space Exploration
Biography
Gabriel Molina-Terriza is an Ikerbasque Research Professor at the Materials Physics Center (CFM) in Donostia-San Sebastián, where he leads the Quantum Nanophotonics Laboratory.
His research focuses on quantum nanophotonics, quantum optics and light–matter interactions at the nanoscale, with applications in quantum information, quantum metrology and sensing. His group studies how the spatial properties of light can be used to probe matter, implement quantum communication protocols and develop new sensing approaches.
Before joining CFM, he held research and academic positions at institutions including the University of Vienna, ICFO, the National University of Singapore and Macquarie University in Australia. At Macquarie University he led an experimental quantum nanophotonics team and served as Director of the Macquarie Research Centre for Quantum Science and Technology.
He has received several competitive fellowships and research awards, including a Marie Curie Fellowship, a Ramón y Cajal Fellowship, an ICREA Junior position and an Australian Research Council Future Fellowship.
