Welcome to HyQuMa Lab!

We study hybrid organic-inorganic materials, which combine the physical properties of inorganic compounds with the chemical versatility of organic molecules. By designing these hybrids, we can tailor key material properties such as optical behavior, magnetism, and superconductivity.
Our research focuses on 2D materials as the inorganic platform, leveraging their unique physical properties and layered structure to engineer new functionalities. To achieve this, we employ two main strategies:
Intercalation: The insertion of molecules between the layers of 2D materials, modifying their properties from within.
Surface engineering: Chemical modifications of the surface of 2D materials to introduce new functionalities.
By controlling these hybrid systems at the molecular level, we explore their potential for advanced electronic applications, including spintronics and quantum computing.
