Work of our group about electron energy loss spectroscopy published in Nature Communications!

We performed one of the first electron energy loss studies in the infrared spectral range merging experiment and theory and thus bringing important insights in physics of probing phononic materials with an electron beam. In close collaboration with scientists from NanoGUNE, we studied phononic spectral response of hexagonal boron nitride probed by fast electrons in a scanning transmission electron microscope. We managed to interpret the challenging experimental results with help of theoretical calculations and explained shifts appearing in electron energy loss spectra.
